Total spending on the 2004 presidential election, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, was at least $1.2 billion. The 2008 campaign promises to be even more costly. Please contribute $18, $20, $100 or more to support Eric M. Appleman's DEMOCRACY IN ACTION so that P2008 can continue to provide reliable, timely, independent, focused coverage and perspective on the 2008 presidential campaign.
